Artist Statement

A year or so ago I noticed I was very drawn to scenes with boats in them. I think that I find the boats compelling because it's been a lifelong wish to learn to sail. I have not done it yet, but I still have hope. This series channels the wish to be out on the water as well as liking the 'stillness' of the lonely boats just serenely floating away.
